Setup
Pick a common port (optional)
Ship time
- Set Home and Destination.
- Hit Start journey when you leave.
- Use Reset if you're starting over.
How it works
- UTC is always shown and is the safest reference offshore.
- Home and Dest are timezone displays only (no GPS needed).
- Elapsed is stable while this page is open; after reload it falls back to device time.
- Your settings are saved locally on the device (Export/Import available).
- Offline: ads may not load; clocks still run.
Clocks
PWA = installable offline-capable app. Once installed, this tool can run offline after first load (ads may not).
Passage
What this clock helps you notice
Clocks for UTC, home, destination, ship time, and a live elapsed counter stay pinned in one place so you can tell, without swiping, how the day and journey are progressing.
- Keep watches, shore contacts, and crews synced on the same references.
- See when home wakes up or when destination sunsets hit without doing mental math.
- Track “days underway” or “time since start” as passive context during focus sessions or long work blocks.
How to use it well
- Lock in Home and Destination before you leave so the board stays stable the whole trip.
- Tap Start journey from the dock to let the elapsed counter run in the background.
- Enable Ship time only if your crew really moves the clock; otherwise leave UTC as the anchor.
- Mount the display somewhere visible—tablet on the nav table, monitor in the ops room, or a spare laptop by your desk.
- Export settings when swapping devices so your elapsed log and ports travel with you.
Common ambient mistakes
- Expecting alarm behaviour—this is an awareness display, not a siren.
- Running it tiny on a phone in bright daylight; make it big enough to read from across the room.
- Relying on it without explaining to the team what each clock labels (Home vs Dest vs Ship).
- Forgetting to hit Start journey so the elapsed counter never begins.
- Using it as a precision chronometer; it’s ideal for pacing, not millisecond accuracy.
Quick answers
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once loaded, the PWA cache keeps everything available without a connection (ads might not load).
How accurate is the elapsed timer?
It follows your device clock. Avoid big manual time changes mid-passage to keep it trustworthy.
Can I preload destination presets?
The preset list covers popular ports; otherwise type any timezone manually. We’ll add more over time.
What if my device reboots?
Settings live locally (and via Export/Import), so reopening the page restores the journey data.
Why do I see “-” on some clocks?
Placeholders stay until you set Home and Destination. Fill those fields to unlock the full display.
Does it have alarms?
No—pair it with Interval Timer or your watch alarms if you need audible alerts.
